What size cable for lighting? 1.5mm is the common cable size for lighting within the UK.

What size cable for sockets? 2.5mm cable is the common cable size for standard 13Amp plug sockets and ring mains within the UK, this may vary depending on the amount of sockets and length of cable run required.

What size cable for cooker? A lot of cookers now come with a 13A plug and cable pre-wired, but if yours doesn't and requires wiring the standard size is generally 4mm, maybe 6mm for larger induction cookers and length of cable run.

What size cable for shower? Electric showers usually require a 6mm or 10mm supply cable. This is dependant on the size of the shower, the length of cable run and the MCB supplying the power.
