Start with the length. We use a 6 x 6 mm joint, a 310 ml cartridge and 10% extra as starting assumptions. Open advanced settings if your gap or cartridge is different. These are estimate settings, not recommended joint dimensions.

How much do you need?

metres. Add up all the edges you will seal. For a room, add the wall lengths; count each run if you are sealing more than one edge.

Measuring a room or skirting boards

Add the lengths of the edges you plan to seal. A room measuring 4 metres by 3 metres has a perimeter of 14 metres. Count only the runs you will actually seal, and add another run if you are doing two edges.

1. Measure the length

Enter your total in metres. The basic estimate uses the starting settings shown beside the answer.

2. Adjust if needed

A smaller or larger gap changes coverage. Use advanced settings for your measured gap and the volume printed on your cartridge.

3. Check before ordering

We include 10% extra and round up to whole cartridges. Actual use varies. Check the product suits the job.

Worked example

At the starting settings, 12 metres uses 432 ml before the extra allowance, or 475.2 ml with 10% extra. Dividing by 310 ml and rounding up gives 2 cartridges.

Quick cartridge guide

Find your total length down the left, then the width of your gap across the top. The number is how many whole cartridges to allow.

This table uses 310 ml cartridges, a 6 mm filling depth and includes 10% extra. For a different depth or cartridge size, use Advanced settings above.

For example: sealing 20 metres of a 6 mm wide gap needs an estimated 3 cartridges with these settings. If your length falls between rows, use the next longer length.

These examples are different product types. Their volume does not make them interchangeable.

Check the product before ordering

Confirm the product, cartridge volume and joint dimensions in the current data sheet. Real use varies with joint shape, surface profile, application and waste.
